Redwattled Lapwing
Overnight it rained heavily
Striking tin sheds bravely.
By morning it was lesser and calm
For all of us,it was a panacea balm.
Chill in the air …pure and fair
I go to rooftop to watch it bare.
The yellow green paddy fields
The natural beauty they wield.
Joyous birds traverse the sky
Shooting like missiles, they fly.
Dodging, diving and gliding there
With unfathomed joys and care.
Ahaa ! Look at it ..the dive of a dove
It takes off deliberately fluttering above
With aggressive notes ' koon koon koon'
It glides in spiral motion or straight down.
White egrets fly across the dark cloud
Shining whiter with the crest proud.
Rock Pigeons, with blue black stripes
Swift through skies like the spikes .
Redwattled Lapwing shouts shrill call
As if a lowering cloud on her will fall.
Redvented Bulbuls , healthy and hale
Their melodies echo through the dale.
There are so many how to count
Birds on their wings,on their mount.
Rain has refreshed the life bright
Adorned my wings to a fantastic flight.
